someone…
I found out a little more about myself that even I didn’t want to know.
About my weakness. About my failings.
What was that? Really?
Did I really do that? Did I really think that? Where did that come from?
That wasn’t me. It couldn’t be.
That’s not who I am. At all. I hate the person that came out today.
And a quiet voice whispers…its because I’m just tired…
but that’s not an excuse.
I messed up.
I need to come to terms with that.
But I cant…because I don’t know where it came from.
I don’t know how to stop the bleeding.
I feel horrible.
I feel like I lost every ounce of self-control that I ever had. I feel like I…lost.
I’m so tired of failing…
But hey, I’m just tired, right?
This will all be over in the morning.
We’ll forget what we said. We’ll forget what we thought.
And we’ll go on.
Right?
Well maybe I should just turn this old boat around and set my sights for home.
Home is safe
And I can always be
me.
And that person that came out today
Will fade into the night
And when I’m tired
I will only sleep
Instead of pleasing
Others’ eyes
When I’m home
I can always be
me.
Next week I will be starting a 1 Corinthians 13 challenge! I will be challenging myself for 14 weeks to really dive into what love is and try and incorporate it into my daily life. Each week I will study one way that love is expressed in 1 Corinthians 13. It will pretty much be my Summer excursion! It will start next week when finals are over and go to the last week in August.
God says that nothing we do for Him will bring Him glory unless we have LOVE. I have really been learning a lot from God about love and I want to continue in this study. God is love and by learning more about love through this challenge, I will be learning more about who He is! I am so excited to take this challenge and I invite you to take the journey with me.

“When we first come to Jesus, we ask Him to change our situation…but as we draw closer to Christ we realize he is more interested in changing us!”
Wait on the Lord. Do not worry. He cares for you. He has always been faithful before. He will be faithful again. Stop worrying about life. He has a plan and He has it under control. He loves you. He died for you. He was mocked for you. He was beaten for you. He gave everything up for you. Trust Him. There has never been anyone in history who has proven himself more worthy of our trust and love than Jesus Christ. (Source: love-temily, via delicateramblings)
